What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
We need a hardworking, thoughtful, creative, and experienced writer and content strategist who is passionate about working in a company whose culture is fanatical about innovation and fixated on results.
As a Senior Content Marketing Specialist, you will design and lead the global content program to not only drive visibility to the CloudHealth website but also generate and influence new sales opportunities. You’ll leverage your experience to bring existing best practices in content marketing, your curiosity to experiment with new ideas, and your analytical mindset to ensure content creates value for prospective and existing customers.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Immediately and in an ongoing manner you will:
Ensure our content strategy addresses customer pain points and opportunities at all stages of the funnel
Act as Editor-In-Chief of the CloudHealth blog, responsible for creating an editorial calendar that attracts new buyers, promotes our brand, and gives existing customers the tools they need to successfully navigate their cloud journey
Ensure all web and blog copy drives SEO results
Make decisions on content strategy based on the results that matter most: visitors to the website, conversions, new opportunities sourced, new opportunities influenced, impact on sales cycle, and impact on customer retention.
Collaborate with the product marketing, regional marketing, sales, and product management teams to inform the content strategy, enable employees to promote marketing content, and ensure web tools are optimized to generate new business opportunities
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
As part of CloudHealth’s world-class marketing organization, you will:
- Be responsible for driving a content strategy in line with our key business objectives, including web copy, blog copy, and long-form content, as well as aligning with the product team on sales tools and enablement content
Contribute to broader efforts on marketing content and campaigns, including creative support for display advertising, search advertising, social media, and email marketing
Project manage the editorial calendar, sourcing content from a vast array of subject matter experts throughout the VMware ecosystem, as well as from third-party writers and agencies
Oversee quarterly reporting on key content-related metrics
Set the SEO strategy and priorities in line with broader business objectives and key positioning efforts
Work with the Web & UX team to optimize current and future webpage content focused on driving conversions on the website
Work closely with sales to enable all sales team members to share content through email and social media
