Global Solutions Architect

 The Global Solutions Architect (SA) is dedicated to the success of the VMware business plans pivotal from the technical perspective in developing overall business strategies, plans and implementation approaches for the engagement, enablement, market execution and delivery of the VMware solutions and capabilities that involve VMware products and services.

The Global Solution Architect drives and supports key global accounts to develop virtualization solutions linking technology, data and applications to current and future business needs, using recognized IT architectural practices (e.g. Enterprise Architecture). He/she needs to be knowledge as developing the solutions, the SA then needs to assist the customers and partners during initial delivery, assisting in developing go-to-market plans, training and enablement and support partner and direct sales efforts.


Requirements:

·Strong background in technical solutions or enterprise architect (IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, service provider solution and security), and experience in developing Enterprise IT architectural solutions; TOGAF or similar certification preferred, and ability to rapidly learn new concepts and technologies.

·Business development experience in a consulting and/or professional services environment including time supporting sales and managing technical staff and implementations, and in offering innovative solution to lead customer transformation.

·Strong grasp of administration concepts, activities, tuning, and implementation best practices for business

·Familiarity with operations and systems management concepts, processes and standards (e.g. solid understanding of ITIL, CMMI, or COBIT fundamentals

·Strong understanding of server, storage, networking architectures / configurations necessary to facilitate virtualizing business critical applications

·Application software development and/or Systems programming or OS internal level skills would be an advantage

·Strong solution selling acumen, and clear understanding of selling cycles, selling strategies and the skills and responsibilities of an account management.

·Strong customer-facing and relationship building skills.

·Experience in engaging at C-level for the purposes of solution selling, establishing peer relationships, and articulating strategic vision.

·Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups toward accomplishing a task.

·Experience in managing relationships and influencing in both customer and Channel driven sales environments and complex global alliances

·Proven track record of selling services as part of a solution.

·High levels of energy, drive and commitment, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·Strong English language skills, spoken and written,

·Ability to travel up to 40 percent of the time, including international if necessary.

·BA/BS or equivalent required.

·VCP preferred

Responsibilities:

·Present VMware vision, strategy value proposition, and product roadmaps to executives and technical management.

·Understand the customer's high-level business challenges globally and locally.

·An effective business partner and trusted advisor, responsible for developing and executing technical business plans aligned to business goals and success.

·Act as a business analyst to define and implement a go-to-market strategy for each global account to ensure technical adoption of VMware solutions that meet customer business and technical requirements.

·Create and develop technical solutions and architectures, and the underlying business cases and planning that meets critical business needs in domains of ITaaS such as IaaS, Cloud Services, Virtualization, etc

·Lead presales with initial design / architecture and delivery of strategic projects

·Help to document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for reuse by customers and partners

·Research and present reports showing customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products and services.

·Act as a business development liaison - Develop new business opportunities and build and leverage strong OEM and partner relationships.

·Provide technical training to customer & partner, and communicate feedback into future product developments.

·Participate in regional partner and customer marketing events to promote VMware, VMware partners and solutions

·Fosters teamwork and cross business collaboration and in partnership to ensure all areas of the business are engaging appropriately with the respective communities
