As a Digital Workspace Solution Engineer, your role is to support the Sales team on all technical and functional aspects of End User Computing opportunities within VMware accounts in France. The VMware Solutions Engineers play a critical role in building and sustaining customer relationships while driving the adoption of VMware solutions. They are responsible for discovery of customer needs, proving out VMware solutions to meet them, and prescribing implementation roadmaps for long term success.

This could be your first solutions engineering role at the leading software vendor in this domain. We welcome candidates from all technical backgrounds who have the passion and drive for technology that improves employee and customer satisfaction. Experience as a sales engineer is not required, and this could be your first step to working in the most exciting role in IT.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Engage with technology decision makers (CIO, CTO, Solution Architects, VPs and Directors of IT); building relationships, evangelizing VMware solutions, and providing domain expertise to assist in closing business
  • Participate in pre-sales efforts including technical sales presentations, architecture design discussions, daring displacement, proof-of-concept engagements, RFP/RFI responses, solution demonstrations, and technical workshops
  • Analyzes customer's business and technology objectives by asking probing questions that are meaningful to the customer in order to collect information that enables the sales team to be more effective and responsive to customer’s needs
  • Craft and propose custom solutions that differentiate VMware software and services, and meet customer’s requirements and objectives
  • Ensure success of customer proof-of-concepts (POCs)
  • Build a document portfolio of compelling sample reference architectures that demonstrate the value of VMware solutions in real-world scenarios
  • Document client feature requests and issues, providing feedback to sales and product management
  • Present VMware’s technical & business value proposition at industry events
  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of VMware and domain expertise within technology subject area

Desirable Technical skills:

  • Working knowledge of a selection from the below technologies:
    • Apple (iOS) MDM / MAM
    • Google Android MDM / MAM
    • ChromeOS platforms MDM / MAM
    • Windows 10 Modern Management
    • Mac OS Management
    • Desktop Virtualization
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management principles and standards such as Identity federation, SAML, OAuth
  • Microsoft Domain Management, Microsoft Azure, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory Services (AD)
  • Standard understanding of desktop and server operating systems software, performance and debugging tools, scripting and automation (Windows, Linux)
  • Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP, routing and remote protocols
  • Server and Endpoint Security experience would be beneficial

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years IT industry experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Must have flexible thinking, be dependable, and capable of multi-tasking and quickly learn new products and technologies
  • Fluently speaks French and English
