Job Role:

As an Applications Developer, you will be part of an IT development team that caters to Demand to Quote business functions of VMware. You will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of applications based on the business needs using Java J2EE technology stack. We are looking for a candidate who has exceptional technical skills in development and integration tools such as mule. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In this role you will embrace and adhere to IT standards, processes and methodologies.

Depending on the critical priorities relevant at the time, your role could include the following activities:

  • Actively participate and work with business analysts and business teams to understand and document technical requirements for projects, enhancements/features and integrations 
  • Design and develop applications using Java, J2EE stack
  • Write and consume web services using REST and SOAP web services 
  • Develop web applications using web technologies, frameworks such as spring boot and front end JavaScript frameworks like React.js, .Net, Angular a plus 
  • Write and execute unit tests cases for the developed functionalities 
  • Research newer technical capabilities as needed to suit business requirements and provide gap analysis 
  • Collaborate and contribute in a team environment 
  • Offer excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Solve problems in a logical/perceptive manner by being detail and solution-oriented 
  • Follow established processes as well as find gaps and suggest improvements
  • Generate innovative ideas and solutions
  • Research opportunities to leverage VMware technologies 
  • Plan and execute tasks in a structured manner 
  • Work in a global, cross-functional environment to help support and enhance business systems 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Proven expertise in Java, Python, C programming languages
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS a must
  • Strong software engineering technical background with a real passion to deliver high performance, quality software
  • Strong knowledge of software product development and fundamentals of project/program management
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise professional manner, tailored to the appropriate audience; including both verbal and written communications
