Job Description

We are looking for a Product Management leader to be part of the VMware Cloud on AWS team. The VMware Cloud on AWS Product Management team leads the vision, business priorities, and product roadmap for VMware’s flagship enterprise hybrid cloud offering delivered as-a-service. We work closely with Customers, Partners, Engineering, SRE, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing teams – to create meaningful value for our users and help them achieve their digital transformation goals.

As a Director of Product Management, Large Scale Deployments- you’ll be responsible for working with the top customers and partners with the largest deployment footprint. You establish a service vision and strategy for operational readiness and scale for ensuring the success of these large scale deployments. This involves setting product strategy and operational readiness, working closely with these top customers, and ensuring successful business outcomes for them. As the service continues to expand with large deployments, this is a critical role to ensure our service is always exceeding SLA goal, as well as the individual goals of our top customers.

The role requires a background in Product Management, SRE tools, Incident management, and Customer escalations. It also requires an ability to work effectively with Engineering, SRE, and Customer Success teams. A key part of the role is to work with senior executive leadership of our top customers.

We like to move fast and look for willingness to do what it takes to help grow the business while maintaining customer trust and make those tough tradeoffs to keep up in a high intensity environment. We are changing the face of the infrastructure industry with our unique hybrid cloud solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Background in SaaS Operations, SRE and a DevOps culture
  • Drive a culture of Service Ownership across product and service teams
  • Ability to engage customers at the senior executive level
  • Ability to set hard priorities to ensure VMWare meets the needs of our customers while ensuring that our service operates with a high level of trust
  • Ensures that engineering teams and architects are aligned around these sets of priorities
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills to drive alignment across company, and with customers and partners

Required Skills:

  • Background in Product Management, SRE tools, Incident management, and Customer escalations.
  • It also requires an ability to work effectively with Engineering, SRE, and Customer Success teams. A key part of the role is to work with senior executive leadership of our top customers.
  • Deep understanding of monitoring, logging, infrastructure automation, troubleshooting, observability, traceability, remediation, scale & performance
  • Ability to define a vision, set of core values, and metrics for large scale customer deployments
