Job Overview:

VMware is looking for a QuickBase Developer to manage and improve the QuickBase application used by Global Compliance Services (“GCS”). This vibrant and dynamic role is responsible for working closely with business teams across the GCS organization to update and maintain QuickBase (“QB”) applications based on business needs. You will gather requirements for QB project requests, develop new and/or modify existing QB applications, coordinate and implement maintenance updates as it relates to QB and other related database applications. You will serve as trusted advisor, integrating best practices and leveraging collaborative partnerships to ensure value, impact and accountability in developing and implementing QB applications across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand the existing business processes and the various applications that the team uses to accomplish their day to day activities.
  • Be the content expert with various stakeholders to provide business and technical expertise.
  • Develop new or modify existing QB applications, reports, and dashboards to meet business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and maintain systems and applications as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow-up on identified issues.
  • Work directly with QB support team in cases of any issues/questions about QB. If the issue is related to an existing app, you will work closely with the Vendor who built the app.
  • Collaborate cross functionally as many of the business processes might include more than one team.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Experience designing, developing and implementing QB applications.
  • Strong experience in building Dashboards Reports, APIs, Webhooks, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in working with Relational Databases like MS Access and/or MS SQL.
  • Experience managing user access and controls to the QB tool.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to deal with ambiguity and changing roles and/or tasks while still driving work products to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a desire to work as part of a global team and ability to interact with people at all levels in a variety of situations.
  • Actively participate and work with business teams to understand and document functional requirements for projects, enhancements, and new features.
  • Independent, self-motivated, ability to learn on the job.
  • Experience with task prioritization, workload and escalation management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, project and time management skills.


  • Requires A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • App Builder Certification from QuickBase is an added plus.
