VMWare’s vSphere Solutions team is looking for highly motivated & self-driven Senior Manager QE to work on vCenter Maintenance releases. In this role, you will get an exciting opportunity to work on industry leading vSphere virtualization platform. The role also requires experience in managing teams with strong understanding of datacenter deployments, designing customer use cases/End to End workflows, building test strategy and execution covering various vCenter Product installation, upgrades, patching, migration methodologies. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·Lead and manage highly talented engineers with varying experience levels
·Hands-on technical manager who can work across Global teams as collaborator/partner and ensure timely delivery of maintenance releases
·Accountable for Test planning, execution, tracking and delivery of vCenter Life cycle deliverables across maintenance release milestones
·Stronger collaboration and stakeholder management with various cross functional teams like Engineering, release managers, Product managers, escalation managers and other key internal teams
·Standardize practices and procedures based on a software development methodology
·Drive implementation of test automation and automation enhancement. Ensure test environment reflects the operating environment of our customers
·Manage quality metrics, analyze customer issues and focus on continuous quality improvements
·Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, recalls, corrective actions, and release postmortems
·Act as a thought leader for the team, always focusing on solving problems and implementing solutions
·Mentoring and coaching including the preparation and delivery of performance evaluations and career development activities
·Manage staffing and hiring
·Create a strong sense of team direction
·At least 3 years' direct experience managing a diversified and high-performing QE medium size team. A total of at least 13+ years of industry experience.
·Strong knowledge on QA concepts, test management and various development/testing methodologies. Preference will be given to those who have experience in managing Agile teams focused on product testing
·Hands-on experience on various OS, especially Linux and Windows internals
·Sound experience in programming, building automation frameworks with hands-on experience in Core java, Python/Perl and REST API
·Knowledge and working experience with Linux, Web Server, MSSQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL
·Knowledge and working experience in continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, Chef
·Familiar with one of the major server virtualization products (preferably VMware ESXi/vSphere) is a plus
·Strong organizational, people management, project management and customer interaction skills
·Degree with Computer Science background or equivalent
·Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
